Picnic

We made an impromptu decision today to have a picnic at Bogle Winery, one of our favorite kid-friendly/adult-friendly places! We all had a great time and the girls were tuckered out by the time we left!

We Love The Weekend!

We all love the weekends! We get to lounge around and hang out with Sable....

And we really like to read books and talk to each other....

And we have fun practicing our sitting skills.....

The Amanda Shuffle

We got quite a chuckle today out of Amanda's latest efforts to crawl. We're calling this new signature move the "Amanda Shuffle." It appeared for the first time today and she did it several times -- it made us laugh each and every time! :)

Current Morning Routine

Weekday mornings are getting a little crazier at our house. We all get up very early and Natalie and Amanda always used to go back to sleep after their bottles. Not so much any more! They sometimes go back to sleep now but more often than not they stay up. So, now they join me in the bathroom and "help" me get ready while I supply them with bathroom accouterments (such as toothbrushes and dental floss) to keep them busy. While they don't have any teeth yet, they have fun pretending to brush!

Bathing Beauties

Bathing beauty Amanda:

And the lovely Miss Natalie:

San Francisco

As promised, here are a few photos from our recent overnight trip to SF. Although we took many more photos than this (on our disposable camera because daddy forgot the camera!), for some reason, for some reason there were not there when we had the film processed. :(

It was a beautiful weekend in the City. Here is a view from our room:

And here is the view inside our room with me feeding the girls. The stroller doubled quite nicely for high chairs.

Here is Amanda hanging out with Daddy in the room.

And here we are with Lynne at the Olympic Club having yummy brunch. The girls were on their best behavior.....thank goodness!

Here is Natalie hanging out with her TALL friends Craig and Matt:

Finally, here is a picture of Jess and Madelaine, the girls' new friends.

Good Times

We have so much fun playing with the girls on the weekend. Here they are playing with some toys in their room (Natalie L and Amanda R).

Here is Natalie saying hello:

Amanda continues to squint or blink when she sees the red eye light go off on the camera. I think every photo of her from now on is going to look like this:

Finally, here is our other girl, Sable, showing how excited she is about life:

Cookie Monsters!

Natalie and Amanda have just started eating cookies (aka "teething biscuits"). So far, they are fans!

Sweet Buns

Sunday Night Post

For those of you who read this blog, I'm sure you've noticed a trend in my posting since returning to work. I don't post at all during the week but instead save up all of my posting for the weekend, which mostly translates into Sunday night posting. So, here it is Sunday night and I'm struggling for some material. Why, you ask? Well, we went out of town this weekend I relied on my DH (in blogger terminology, that would "dear husband") to do the packing (because I had to leave during the wee hours of the morning before the rest of the family for a work-related recruiting event). He did a great job packing up the girls, EXCEPT he left the camera behind. Oh no!! He did buy me a disposable camera, so there will eventually be a few pictures from the weekend but I have none to post now. BUT, I can report that we survived our first weekend away with the girls! We're all a little tired today since the girls struggled to sleep in a different environment but, nevertheless, the weekend was generally a success. Proof, by way of photos, to come....so stay tuned!

7 Months Old

The days and months are flying by! We can hardly believe that the girls are already 7 months old. They are growing and developing so fast; it's just amazing! They both talk up a storm these days and Amanda has just recently added a few consonants to her repertoire. (Daddy *swears* she has said "da da" several times now!) They also both roll all around to get where they want to go and Natalie is about ready to start crawling. And they are completely enamored with each other. They are constantly grabbing at each other (to the extent I'm worried that one will poke the other's eye out one of these days) and they even smile and laugh at each other now. It's absolutely adorable! Amanda is more curious about her surroundings and will spend forever playing with every inch of the ExerSaucer while Natalie grows weary of things more readily. Natalie is definitely the snuggler -- she is always giving hugs and kisses!

Here are the giggle girls. Amanda is on left and Natalie is on the right.

They love their Bumbo seats.

In their pajamas first thing in the morning.

Playing together on the floor.

Finally, here is Amanda going for a ride on Sable.

Let's Go Swimming!

It was a nice day today so we all hit the pool late in the afternoon for a little swim. Here is Amanda getting ready to go:

Despite the fine swimming attire, Amanda still prefers to NOT be in the water. We bought a new floatie for the girls so that they would both have one with a sun shade. But Amanda just cries when she rides in hers, so we decided to try putting her in the back of Natalie's boat. That was a hit! Here is Amanda lounging in the rear.

And here are both girls showing how fun pool time is! Natalie is waving hello in the photo below:

And here is Natalie post-swimming getting dried off. Unlike her sister, she actually enjoys getting wet while floating in the pool!

It's A Scream!

Natalie has taken up screaming as a past time these days. She has quite the range!
