Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Last weekend, Daddy's work had a company event at the Sacramento Rivercats baseball game, (a local Triple A affiliate of the Oakland A's).  We have been attending for the past several years, but the kids just now are old enough to begin enjoying the game and great treats!  Like their favorite, cotton candy!  A night is never complete without kids full of a bag of the colorful spun sugar.
Amanda's favorite is blue!

Natalie's is pink!

And Will loves them both!

Check out my blue tongue and chin.

Ever since Natalie's episode with the Easter Bunny several years ago, she does not like people dressed in costumes.  This includes the Chick-fil-a cow, the gorilla we saw at Halloween, Dinger (the Rivercat Mascot), or these wonderful full-sized bobble head creature below...who can guess who it is?

Will and Amanda have no trouble with the costumes and ran halfway around to park to have their photo taken with the former governator!

For those who guessed Arnold Schwarzenegger, you guessed correctly!

The biggest highlight of the evening, however, was the fireworks display.  In previous trips to the ballpark, the kids have been too young to stay until the end.  This year, the timing was perfect.  The game was relatively quick, it was the first time the kids would have a chance to see a "real" fireworks display and the Rivercats had one of the best fireworks displays of the season!  What a triple play!  Will was giggling, smiling and jumping up and down during the entire show!  You can only see a small part of his excitement in this photo, but as you can clearly see, he thoroughly enjoyed himself!

A Very Fun-Filled Weekend With Friends

Mom and Dad get tired just thinking about this recent weekend where we met up with great friends. First up was a picnic in Benicia where a local park had a truly amazing play structure. The kids had SO much fun!

After playing at the park for a bit and having a yummy lunch, we headed next door to the firehouse where we were lucky enough to have a grand tour!  Here is the whole crew before we head inside.

Once inside we listened to the firemen explain their jobs and we got to sit inside a fire truck!

After the fire station tour, we headed over to a really big Six Flags amusement park where we rode on lots of fun rides.

And Will took a little nap!

The next day, we met up again at the great park.

And then we strolled down to the water.

Shaving Cream Redux

The kids played with shaving cream last year and had a ball so we thought we would break it out again. It is definitely still a hit!  They had a wonderful time lathering up, spreading it all over each other and then rinsing off in the sprinklers.  It's amazing how much mileage you can get out of one can of shaving cream!
