Slime!

The kids are so excited for Halloween this year! We are not sure we will make it to the big day before they burst with joy. As a result, we already have our costumes selected and the house is decorated! To help us get in the mood more, we made some creepy slime last weekend.

Will was up first and he wanted green slime. The face painting was a result of being at our favorite little amusement park earlier in the day. Since we had not been in awhile we indulged in face painting. Will, of course, picked the full-on Batman mask and wore it proudly all day!

Amanda was up next and she picked yellow, her favorite color.  (She has already announced that she is going to have a yellow car when she grows up!)  That is a blue whale on her cheek.

Natalie picked red, which is one of her favorite colors.  Hers turned out a bit pink though due to the fact that we used white school glue, which is the primary ingredient in slime.

We stretched and pulled and rolled our slime into all sorts of shapes and figures.  It was great fun!

We will definitely do this activity again!

Not Shy

Today, we went to the park so the kids could get their energy out. While the kids were playing in the sandbox area, a little girl came up and started playing with them. After playing for awhile, the girls took a little break and came and sat with mom and dad.

That left Will with the little girl.  Not shy in the least, he struck up a conversation with her.  First, he introduced himself.  He said, my name is "Will-yum."  After receiving no response back, he asked her what her name was.  We could not hear if she responded or not.  Nevertheless, he proceeded to tell her again that his name was "Will-yum"

Then he told her that he had two sisters and their names were Natalie and Amanda.  The girls became interested in the discussion and so they went and joined Will and the little girl.  They mostly stood and watched while Will continued to carry on his discussion.

After introducing his sisters, he told the little girl that he had a dog named Sable.  Then he said she had been sick, was throwing up, and she needed to go to the doctor.  (It's true, she has been a little sick; we're trying to figure out why.)  He told her that Sable spent the night at the doctor and he missed her SO much.

Still not receiving much of a response from the little girl, Will eventually gave up.  But we give him an A+ for trying.  Love that he is not shy!

Hard at Work

The kids love going to their school and are learning very quickly! So far, so good! They attend a Montessori pre-school where they are learning to write cursive (it's easier for the hand)....

and where they work on activities like sewing that strengthen their hand muscles and improve their hand-eye coordination.

Good job, girls!  Keep up the good work!

Labor Day Fun

We had a terrific Labor Day holiday and the kids were nice enough to pose for some shots.  Will was up first.

Amanda drew herself and mom and dad as flowers and butterflies.  Funny!

The kids love art.

Yes, Will as in his Christmas pajamas.  We're flexible!

Photo shoot time!

A Spiderman Extravaganza

Will had a spiderific party at Funderland! Here is his Spidey cake.

I caught him taking a little taste of the frosting before his guests arrived!  Busted!

Will invited all of his little friends to help him celebrate.  Here is his friend, Hirshel, with his mom.

This is one of my favorite shots from the party.  Three of Will's friends having a good chat over some juice!

Our former nanny, Sarah, and her little cutie, Jacob, joined the festivities.

Everybody was quick to line up to sing happy birthday and get some cake.

Once again, it took Will a few tries to get all of the candles out.

Everyone had fun on the rides.  Here, the girls are going backwards on a ride with one of their school friends.

And, finally, here is the big guy and one of his buddies from school riding the airplane ride.

It was a great party!  Happy Birthday, Will!
