One Really Busy Saturday

For the past few years, the kids enjoy swim lessons early every Saturday morning.  Being out, we always try to find something different to do to keep them active and burn as much energy as possible!  On one recent Saturday morning, swim lessons was followed by a wide selection for fun activities.  First, a stop at a brand new kids park in Sacramento.  There are many different activities like tree houses, slides, rings, balance beams and one of their favorite, a colorful climbing wall!  Here Natalie and Amanda show off their skill!

Mom!  Look how high I am!

Next, Amanda gives the wall a try.

This is really fun!

After the climbing wall, it was a diversion to the tight rope.  It is not that far off the ground, but they found it to be equally as challenging as if it were 20 stories high.  (Nice face for Natalie!  She just can't wait for Amanda to clear the span.)

While the girls were trying out their balancing skills, will disappeared but was quickly found on top of the play rock structure.  "Dad, I can climb up here all by my self!"

Along the way home after the park, we were surprised to learn that our local fire station was having an open house.   All the brave firemen and fire women greeted each visitor.  Sparky was also there and Amanda and Will could not wait to have their picture taken with him.  (Natalie was still hiding at this moment.)

Everyone also got an opportunity to sit in the cool fire engine and pretend to drive to help save the day! Will seems to enjoy the thought of how high he is verses driving to the rescue!

Amanda's turn!

Next is Natalie!

Right behind the driver is a large cab for the crew.  The kids thought it was great fun pretending it was a tree club house.

This year, we were able to go inside for a tour to see how all the firemen live, eat and sleep during their on call assignment.  The TV room is full of reclining chairs, and Will settles down thinking he will get to see Scooby Doo!

Right next to the TV room is the kitchen.  Everyone was surprised to see how many refrigerators were needed for all the hungry residents.

At the end of the tour, everyone got to spend time with Sparky...even Natalie!

At the last minute, we were able to get this great family photo!

Well, if the park and the fire station was not enough.  We also were able to create this fun obstacle course in our upstairs hallway.  The objective, go from one end of the hall to the other end...without touching any of the electric streamers!  On your mark...get set...GO!

Amanda is off to record her record time.

Next was Natalie's turn, and she also turned in a world class performance, without touching any of the stinging streamers!

We hope your Saturdays are as eventful and fun filled as ours!

Kindergarten!!!

Natalie and Amanda are kindergartners!!! They started at their new school at the end of August and they LOVE it....homework and all!!!

We snapped some shots of their first day of school. They were both so excited, even while eating their breakfast!

Will, on the other hand, was saying "What....they aren't going to school with me anymore?  No way!"

The girls' new school requires uniforms.  We think they look adorable!

We made up some signs for our photos to help us remember this moment forever.  When I asked the girls to hold up the signs, this is what I got!

Much better!

A different sign for variety (and the year).

Here are the girls at school.  Amanda had a wardrobe change as her dress was itchy.

They have a fun play structure and the girls got a few minutes to enjoy it before the bell rang.

Amanda lines up.....first in line!

Natalie and Ava stand in line too.

Kindergarten is fun!!!

Par-Tay!

Will had a wonderful birthday party with his school friends the weekend after his birthday. When asked what he wanted to do for his birthday, his answer was a resounding: "Bounce House"! The party started with free play for all the kids and here are a few action shots.

This is fun!

Hey Mom!  Look a me!

Then out of the blue can our surprise birthday party hose...who could it be??

Hey Mom!  Look who just showed up!  One of Will's favorite super heroes decided to stop by and join the fun.  Interestingly, he when he was not running around with the kids, he was busting a move on the dance floor.  (Who knew Spiderman was such a good dancer?)

Spidey ready to spring into action!

Surprisingly, the girls were the first ones to go and play with Spiderman.

They thought he was fun!  And he even showed them some cool dance moves.

Here are a few of Will's friend who help him celebrate his 4th birthday!  They are all so cute.

Some group shots with their favorite super hero!

Even though Will is a big fan of Spiderman, he was very timid and wanted to be held by Dad until he had a chance to warm up to the masked man.

Finally, Will decided that Spiderman was cool and began to chase him around all over the place.  We even got this great photo of Will sitting in his lap.

Spiderman also showed off all his spider like moves...like scaling the outside of the play structure.

Will decided to try out some superhero moves!  Hey Mom, look at me!

Here is Will with one of his good friends getting ready to make a sneak attach on the super hero.

Foiled again, Will decided to have another photo of he a Spidey before the birthday celebration began.

Time for pizza and cupcakes!

Spidey helped Will blow out the candles!

Then got a little frosting on his nose!  Hey!!!

We love cupcakes and ice cream!

Oh my goodness, it is Natalie and Ava!

You don't say...its Amanda and Brooke!

 Happy 4th Birthday Brother Will!
