Changes

Natalie and Amanda have changed so much over the last month. They both "talk" up a storm these days and we enjoy listening to them testing out new sounds. They are also both rolling over now -- front to back. Amanda was working on this for quite some time and finally made it all the way over last weekend. Natalie, on the other hand, did not seem interested at all and so we never saw her "practicing" for the big roll. But, not to be outshined by her sister, she also rolled over this week. They are funny in that although they know how to get back onto their backs after rolling onto their tummies, they seem to get stuck on their tummies and then start to cry for assistance in getting onto their backs.

They also ate cereal for the first time last weekend when their grandparents were here. Both girls made quite a mess! Natalie seemed to enjoy it the whole eating experience. Amanda, on the other hand, is still getting used to it.

Both girls have discovered their feet recently. Natalie is particularly possessed with them though and she spends a lot of time looking like this.

Swimming!

Natalie and Amanda had a big weekend last weekend when Grandma and Grandpa Totten were visiting. It was really hot on Saturday so the girls went for their first swim. Here is Daddy and Amanda:

Sick

We had a tough week because Natalie and Amanda caught their daddy's cold and have been suffering all week. Tuesday was the worst day. Here is Amanda feeling miserable:




And here is Natalie -- she wasn't feeling quite as bad, but still not great. Luckily I think we're through the worst of it now.

Happy Father's Day!

Natalie and Amanda wish everyone a Happy Father's Day....especially their daddy! We actually ventured out for our first meal at a restaurant for brunch today! Both girls were very well behaved.....maybe we'll try that again some time! ;)

Fun Times

We had visitors on Saturday: the girls' cousin Rebecca and her Aunt Janet and step siblings. Here are a few photos from their visit.

Here is Amanda just chilling out on our bed. Truth be told, she was watching Saturday morning cartoons while mommy and daddy finished getting ready for our Saturday visitors. Amanda looks a lot like a photo we have of daddy at a young age in these photos!

Five Months Old

Natalie and Amanda turned 5 months old on June 3rd. As you can see from the photo below, they are very excited about it!

New Tricks

Natalie and Amanda are doing many new fun things all the time these days. It's not always easy to catch those new things on video, but here is Amanda practicing her rolling over skills. :)

New Tricks - Part II

Here is Natalie sitting in her Bumbo seat playing with a toy. It's so basic, but it amazes me because just a few weeks ago she would not happily sit in the Bumbo by herself and she didn't hold toys in her hand. Oh, and, you'll see that she is drooling and EVERYTHING now goes in the mouth. So, I believe she is teething, but no actual teeth have popped out yet. I also think it's so interesting that although Natalie and Amanda are the same age, they are completely unique individuals and are doing different things at different times. Natalie's big thing these days is wanting to sit up (with assistance, of course) and then move to a stand. She'll stay standing with support for quite awhile. Amanda, on the other hand, isn't interested in that at all....but she'll roll over and will also talk your ear off! ;)
