After a month of parties, dress up, pumpkin patch visits and scary stories, Halloween finally arrived! Natalie, Amanda and Will each were able to search the Internet and select their own personal favorite face for their very own pumpkin selected from the pumpkin patch trip. This made the pumpkin carving event even more thrilling and all were very excited to help Dad carve their masterpiece. We started by cutting out the top, then scraping the insides.
Natalie was very pleased with the progress being made on her pumpkin.
She jumps up for a closer look! She selected a face found on more traditional pumpkins.
Dad has so many helpers!
Amanda shows off her special crescent moon and stars pumpkin!
Everyone took a turn placing their pumpkin on the front porch, and Will and Amanda were kind enough to take time to pose for a quick photo. Will is sitting behind his special pumpkin... a Star Wars Storm Trooper motif...what could be scarier!
"Help, I am trapped in this spider web!"
Our nanny, Sara, has a new puppy named Sam. Sam is dressed in her festive pumpkin outfit while sitting on Will's lap. Will absolutely loves this dog, and Sam loves Will equally as well. They seem made for each other as their physical size are a perfect match! Needless to say, they have become best friends!
Speaking about festive outfits....bring out the costumes! Natalie is fairy Rosetta, one of Tinkerbell's friends. Mom tried her hand at face painting and it came out okay! (All the other parents though it was professionally done, so way to go Mom!)
Natalie was having a lot of fun posing. "How do I look at this angle?"
Or this angle...what a pose!
Another glamour shot!
Next up is Mr. Sharpie Man! (A.K.A Wolverine)
Check out my superhero moves! Hiya!
And here is our Beautiful Minnie Mouse, Amanda! Ms. Amanda is sporting a wonderful red tutu with white polka dots, mouse ears with a red and white polka dot headband, reddish hair, long black eyelashes and a sweet black nose!
"I'm ready to go trick or treating!"
A final pose together before we head out to with our friends
We arrived at our friends' house to find all the girl friends have already arrived. We quickly snapped a photo of all of the cute little girls. (Will was having a great time playing in our friends' play room!)
Trick or Treating was fun for everyone, so much yummy candy!
At one of the homes we visited, even the dogs had costumes! Here is Superman ready to save the day!
Will was so excited to find a super sized Snickers bar in his candy bag. Before I could turn around, this boy ate the whole thing in 2 bites!
Each week the kids bring home artwork from their school, and this week was no exception. However, this pumpkin still life came home in a frame! Natalie drew and painted this pumpkin scene, and we love everything about the colors and subject. It seems beyond Natalie's years, but she insists she did it all by herself. It will be up for auction at Christies next month...save your money!
Happy Halloween!
