Hanging Around

Sometimes it's fun to just hang around! Well, we like to anyway!

Alternatively, striking some poses is fun too!

Look at this rainbow girl!  She would wear this every single day if we let her!

Rock Climbing!

We attended a fabulous birthday party recently where the kids got to try their hands (or, I guess we should say feet) at rock climbing. They are all adventurous spirits! While a few other children were a bit reluctant to climb too high, Natalie and Amanda both scurried right up. Will was only a short bit behind them.  The facility was really impressive and they had all of the proper climbing gear, even for the little kids.

When the kids were not climbing the big wall, they were trying their luck with bouldering around the base of the structure.  Here, Natalie, Brook and Ava give it a try.

Now Amanda's turn.

Amanda quickly started to get the "hang" of it and quickly wanted to try and conquer the big wall once again!

Wow!  Look at Amanda go!  She was WAY up there!  (It is really higher that it looks in the photo.)

Nice work kids!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to Grandma Zena, Grandma Jean and Mother Julie on this very special day.  We had a wonderful time today celebrating all the things that make Mom's so special.  Even though Will does not look too excited below (he wanted to go catch some bugs rather than take a picture), he and all the kids were full of fun, fun, fun!

Before we headed out, our two beautiful princes pose.

The bugs were still too exciting for a photo of Will, but once we got to the restaurant, he was all excited to have some yummy pancakes and play with his new play card set.

Look at this great dinosaur I made tracing the numbers 1-25!

Another one, but Mom smiling at the camera!

We went to a new restaurant in downtown Sac, and by far they had the best pancakes we have ever had...there was some special ingredient because they were SOOOOO GOOOD!  Amanda had the apricot version and her expression tells the yummy story.

After brunch, the kids stopped inside for a little AC break and found these wonderful wooden theater seats.  They had a blast flipping the seat up and down as they slid front and back!  Our three little monkeys!  Wheee this is fun!

Hey Will, look at me!

Look Mom, no hands!

This is better than a roller coaster!

After Brunch, we went to Fairytale Town to listen to the Littler Boy Who Cried Wolf puppet show.  After the show, we had to burn off some breakfast syrup energy in the park.

Natalie wants to touch the big bunnies...she thinks they are large squirrels....not far off.

The kids are now off to climb Mother Goose.  But first, a stop at the top for a quick portrait.

Next is Will's turn.

Hey guys, look at this cool tractor I can drive!

I'm a really good driver!

Slides are always fun, and they are even better going down as a pair.  Not part of the rules...but fun nonetheless.

Once we return, our girls were kind enough to grace us with a few more lovely sister photos.

Spring Fling

We had some really hot weather last weekend -- at the end of April! It was so hot that the kids went swimming (yes, the pool water was freezing cold, but that did not stop them) and they begged dad to get out the blow up water slide. They had a blast!

The hose water for the water slide was very cold too, so Will had to take a break to come get warmed up!

Will poses with his favorite toy of the moment.

The super sliders took a short break for a photo.

And Will was nice enough to join the girls for a photo.

The girls are having fun playing hopscotch.

The kids love pointing out all of the bugs in the backyard.  They especially love ladybugs.  Here Will points one out.....

...and Natalie, our resident entomologist, scoops her up.

Will loves to spray water with the hose.  And like all little brothers, he particularly enjoys spraying Natalie and Amanda when they are not looking.  He even gets an evil little look in his eyes before he goes for it!

A great time was had by all during our little blast of summer in the spring.  And, of course, the day ended with a Popsicle!

We are already back to Spring weather (thank goodness...it was too hot, too early) but the taste of summer was fun while it lasted!
