Summer Fun

Whew! It's been a rough/busy few weeks. As a result, we're a little behind in the blog department. The rough patch was caused by Will suddenly becoming ill with a fever that seemed to be never ending. After it went on for about 5 or 6 days, the doctors became concerned and we began a battery of tests that were not very much fun for an almost-two-year-old. And then on the Fourth of July, he landed in the hospital for two days....even less fun. Luckily, it then went away as fast as it arrived and it appears to have just been a very bad viral infection. Immediately following the disappearance of the fever we left for a family reunion in Idaho. Will was still a bit out of sorts during our travels but it was really nice to visit with our extended family.

In an effort to do some catching up, we've collected some photos from the last several weeks below. First, some happy Fourth of July feet thanks to our wonderful nanny, Rachel.

And the smiles that go with the happy feet!

The girls got all dressed up for a fun Fourth of July party that we unfortunately never made it to. These pictures were taken in front of the hospital. Luckily, they were good sports about it.

Natalie and Amanda recently attended a birthday party for one of their classmates and they had SO much fun riding on all of the rides at this little amusement park. Here is Natalie flying a plane with a school mate as a passenger.

And here is Amanda flying with the birthday girl.

The girls also loved the fish ride,

the teacups,

and the train ride.

But I think their favorite was driving the old fashioned cars.

They also enjoyed getting their faces painted.

Of course, everyone loves the merry go round at the local farmer's market.

And popsicles can't be beat!
