2014 Totten Family Reunion

Wow!  We have been away for too long!  Sorry blog readers, it has been crazy busy over that past several weeks and we are now just starting to catch our breath.  (I hope we did not lose our audience...) It all started with a 2 week East Coast trip...with week one beginning in Virginia Beach for the triennial Totten Family Reunion.  Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying each other's company, sharing life's stories, going fishing, eating a half bushel of blue crabs, and of course, playing on the beach.  Below is a great photo of the entire gang.   You can tell everyone is getting a little bit older as everyone seems to have a very nice smile for the picture!

Another favorite activity for the Tottens is an afternoon of high stakes Euchre.  Grandpa Bruce and Jean play along side Bruce's sister Aunt Joyce and Uncle Danny.

Each event brings a new face to the crew, and this year was no exception.  Chris, cousin Rebecca's boyfriend made the trip and kept all the kids happy.  Here, Chris plays a game of slap with Amanda.

Natalie and Amanda had lots of "big sister's" around the house, and here, Amanda gets silly with cousins Mikayla and Meagan

Second cousin Molly plays a game with Natalie.

Now let's head for the beach!  Mathew, Tammy, Paul and Mike all watch the kids try their luck at body surfing.  It was Natalie and Amanda's 1st time, and they loved it!

Here are a few shot of our superstar, Amanda!  (Unfortunately, we missed photos of Natalie...sorry babe)

Natalie and Amanda loved to be around their "big sisters" all week.  Here, they go for a swim with Meagan and try to jump the waves.

Will is with them...but he is more interested in running to and from the waves...the wave caught him here!

Here is Amanda running with the waves.

Natalie says...wave, you can't catch me!

I give up!

Now time just for some fun in the sand.  Will has a blast running up and down the small sand dunes.

Amanda practices her hand stand...makes for an easy landing.  :-)

Will...well he is just being Will!

Mathew, Megan, Will, Amanda and Natalie search for mini clams.

Rebecca and Natalie search for sand fleas!

Hey Dad, look what I found!

Down from the beach house was a very nice fishing pier that the family visited.  Even though the sign says no Shark Fishing...the kids want someone to catch a big one.

Just a nice view of the beach from the pier.

Dad walking with the kids back to the beach.

This seems like a perfect time to build a sand castle.

Natalie and Meagan start the activity, then Mathew and Amanda jump right in.

At the end of the day, ghost crabs littered the beach...so much so all you had to do was grab down and voilà, you have a crab in your hand.  Here, Amanda shows off her catch!

Next is Natalie.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family.  Thanks to the Totten family for keeping the tradition going strong.  We all look forward to the next event being hosted on the West Coast!
